Minecraft as an Assessment Tool
Our exploration for this unit threw us into the world of Minecraft. Despite being an occasional gamer, I have never personally explored Minecraft myself. I thoroughly enjoyed the learn exercises in this topic and found myself spending a considerable amount of hours browsing educational Minecraft articles and videos in YouTube. I initially struggled however with how it could be used as an assessment technique within my subject area of music.
The first of the following screencasts shows me exploring tutorial world and includes my initial thoughts into the use of Minecraft in music.
This second screencast introduces my activity created in Minecraft to assess S8’s understanding of the various types of form and structure found in music.
